A Modder’s Dream Becomes RealityĪt the time, XCOM: Long War was largely a passion project by several highly talented fans, but in a twist of fate that most modders only dream of, 2K and Firaxis turned around and commissioned the small studio to create a series of official mods for the release of XCOM 2.
Long War Studios rose to fame after creating the Long War mod for XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM: Enemy Within, which overhauled the game on multiple fronts and both extended and improved the gameplay experience in a dramatic fashion, which garnered a massive following from die hard fans and developers of the game alike. 2K and Firaxis have officially announced their renewed partnership with Long War Studios in order to produce a wealth of new free content for XCOM 2 in the form of five new pieces of official modded content.
